How to remove and refit CCT's on the Firestorm > http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=8326
Study the above and gather the tools and materials before you start the job - loosen the timing cover on the alternator cover - maybe order one in advance as they can be tricky to undo.
If you need a hand I'm just down the A12 give us a holler.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Re: Not starting
check all the connections on the starter, the leads from Battery and the starter relay. Charge the battery and try again, clicking is probably the relay, if battery is u/s or connections are loose. Does it bump start and if it does see if the lights get brighter as you rev it up.(put it against a wall to see etc)
Any good with a multi meter? check the drop across the battery with it. And last of all check that the earth is good. best of luck.

Re: Not starting
Just a quick question about fitting the manual ccts, when removing the old auto cct it says i can lock them before taking out for a measurement to transfer to the manuals. If its failed can i still do this? Or will it only work with working tensioners?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Not starting
Hi it will work only with working tensioners, if the spring has snapped inside then the tensioner will no longer be putting the camchain under the correct tension as it's that failed spring that was doing that.

Re: Not starting
When fitting manuals there is no need to lock them off. Just set the timing up so the cylinder is at TDC on the compression stroke and remove them. Don't use a Haynes manual for setting the timing as it has errors in it and follow the instructions in the knowlagebase.
