Not sure on the colour yet, Ideally I would like a dark charcoal colour with specs of white or grey. I'm thinking of using a textured paint. Either that or I will chuck some sand in it.
I'm going to use Lexan polycarbonate sheet which is the same material they use to make bullet proof glass and also windows on aeroplanes. It's only weak spot is heat anything above 180c is not good for it. Now my engine is not going to get that hot, but sustained heat over time may take it's toll which is a slight concern. I shall have to wait and see
It's not quite original Pete, I got the idea from a guy on the Superhawk site. But he just cut one big circle whereas I'm leaving the cross section n place. I can also utilise the rubber seal from the plate behind and the bolt in the centre to bolt it in place.
