Today I made a start on making a window in the clutch cover.





I also ground down the Honda as it looked a bit odd and gave it all a quick rub down.


Just got to clean up the circle cut outs a bit better. Wet n Dry some more ready for painting and then I shall be putting Lexan polycarbonate sheet in as a window. My clutch pressure plate I'm going to paint Red.

Nice new sidelight :3 also stuck on my tax disk (can't get a picture as it's dark and only the front facing camera on my iPhone works), also removed the alpine star stickers

Test ride over and the conclusion is the diaphragm rubbers need to be the same as it runs like crap above 3k .

Not sure on the colour yet, Ideally I would like a dark charcoal colour with specs of white or grey. I'm thinking of using a textured paint. Either that or I will chuck some sand in it.

I'm going to use Lexan polycarbonate sheet which is the same material they use to make bullet proof glass and also windows on aeroplanes. It's only weak spot is heat anything above 180c is not good for it. Now my engine is not going to get that hot, but sustained heat over time may take it's toll which is a slight concern. I shall have to wait and see

It's not quite original Pete, I got the idea from a guy on the Superhawk site. But he just cut one big circle whereas I'm leaving the cross section n place. I can also utilise the rubber seal from the plate behind and the bolt in the centre to bolt it in place.

are you going to put a LED hidden inside in the cover some how, an ice white LED might look good in the casing shining / shimmying through the oil splash

Now there's an idea. It would only need a small led that is heat and oil resistant, a small hole in the casing for the wire to come out. Mmm I would like the option to change the colour though. A Red Light in the window would be pretty cool.

I might have to give this window it's own thread.

Nahh, hornet currently has greenish/blue sidelights. Dad and Bro's bike both have blue sidelights so it just makes us recognisable when we pop down to the local bikers meet on fridays I don't feel like a chav. Chav's ride mopeds. Not badass 1 litre sports bikes

Not the bike but the boiler ! my boiler man mate suggests i de-scale the heat exchange as the hot water aint as hot as it used to be! so here's a few pics thumbsup

turn off water inlets etc.... 1/4 turn

Drain boiler via drain valve and hose pipe.

remove heat exchange via the 2 cross head screws

fill with de-scaler (do kettle at the same time)

new seals to go in which boiler mate says are £5 a piece
