Hahaha :) to be honest I am not bothered about it being the older model of the two as its my first storm and I'm in love ;) even though I would love the clocks and the tank capacity of the newer one on mine ;)

These quill evo pipes sound amazing. I've had her on the dyno and produced 103.65 bhp which I thought was good.
I'm not sure if it needs jetting though as It does pop a little but sounds lovely :)
Would you recommend jetting being done?
Also I seem to have a pop coming from under the tank like its coming from the air box or carbs when revving a little sometimes. Not all the time. Can anybody help me with this problem??

its called an airbox fart, very common indeed, so nowt to worry about, if your exhaust is popping and banging loads on over run, then you might have bad seal on one or more of the joints on your exhaust, not really a problem, you can use some high temp sealant and make sure your mikalor clamps are nice and tight...
as for dyno, if its running ok i wouldn't bother, what air filter are you using?

@Bigspanishmarty. That made me chuckle ;) I am Liking the look of your storm, really nice colour. Is that the bigger tank you have fitted on yours? Also is that the newer too yoke? Does it just fit straight on, or have you got a new set of forks?

It's not a problem, and you don't need help!

The airbox cough or as the Americans will have it, the carb fart, is a small misfire where the intake mixture occasionally ignites before the intake valves have properly closed, and then the residual petrol and air mixture in the airbox burns with a short pop.
This means that there's little or no oxygen left in the airbox, and it can cause the engine to misfire, even die before fresh air is drawn into the airbox and carbs.

An ignition advancer reduces the likelihood of this happening, oddly enough, in my experience, although this is counter-intuitive. Balancing the carbs also helps.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Ahh nice one cheers for the information :) I will look into that, it didnt do it before I put the new pipes on. And I did put some high temp sealant on when fitting them. Hmm. Other than that it runs really good :)

Cheers tony.mon at least it's not a major problem then it just gets on my nervs when it does happen as it shouldn't be doing it really. I will look into getting the carbs balanced and making sure there set up in sync. :)

its a 16ltr tank buddy, although i do have a 19ltr tank for my other storm(same colour again) the front end of the bike is from a 53plate later model, so i don't know if you can mix and match newer yoke with older forks, personally i think it wouldn't be an issue, i've recently posted a newer top yoke to jazz up in scotty land, he will be fitting it to older forks in the near future, so we will find out soon enough....
thats a whole lot of blue in your picture buddy....
don't listern to the colour nazi's on this forum....my colours best blah! blah! blah!........

I havnt opened up the air box as of yet but it does have on the top of the air box a k&n filter sticker saying k&n filter fitted. So maybe it's just the sponge inside I'm not sure, I will open it up and find out

if its a k&n then the general thinking is you will need some dyno time, the storm is very sensitive to air filter changes, there are gains to be made with the k&n but you will need dyno time, a lot of people just use the original filter, some people say the bmc road filter is a good compromise between the two....
whip it out, the air filter that is, then you'll know one way or the other...
