add a garage - that is my dream atm

Good list Seb and worth it as a check list. Having had access to the garage at the weekend I got a lot of my tool collection and cans of lube, grease and so on in the bedroom now!

Any one give any recommendations for other tools to pick up

Pick up all of the ones on the floor and get them into a nice tool drawer set on rollers. That way it's easy to loom underneath and behind them for the little springs that dementedly leap out of every handlebar switch, and the little roll pins out of manual cct's when doing stopper mods.
Or make a nice wall board, with silhouettes of every tool in black.
Looks a bit poncy, but you can see at a glance when anything's missing, and you know after a while where everything goes and so it makes finding the correct tool much simpler, rather than they're all in three or four filing cabinet drawers, as mine are.
Or in the house, or in the car, or the wife's car, or I've lent them to someone, or maybe they're under the bench; I'm sure I had one of those, bought it a while back......
And get a length of old carpet to kneel on.

And a pineapple. You never know...... AFD's looming
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Dad picked up a tool box the other day, another cheap thing but better than the one we currently use

i've been wanting to get a fancy branded roller ball baring tool chest type thing for ages but never got round to it, cleaned out the garage and organised tools and threw some stuff out that either gets in the way or never gets used

made a list of what i have personally bought so that when i get my own tool chest i an put my stuff in and lock it up

As you know i have a bell end of a brother and sometimes he likes to try and play mechanic takes tools to his mates and stuff is never seen again, usually its stuff i've bought so it would be handy to have my stuff separated and locked up

So on my list to add i have these as well now

Valve guide reamer & cutting oil
T bars 8,10,12 etc
Rothenberger blow torch
Clutch holding tool
IGNITION FLYWHEEL EXTRACTOR
ヨシムラ

It's a must. I'm strict with my tools these days as I have lost too many over the years. I got my main Snap on chest and then a smaller Snap on box with a tote tray which is portable. I also have a smaller Snap on box for my criming terminals (lots of them) buy in packets of 50s, 100, 200,s the more you buy the cheaper they get. I just stock up every now and then. This box fits snugly under the tote tray.

If I had a garage I would have a roller cab for my chest to sit on top and somewhere to store bigger tools like hammers diagnostics tools, carb sync etc. I'm a bit of a tool snob but they last longer (if they don't get lost/stolen) and perform a bit better. Little things like flank drive so you get more grip and don't round nuts and bolts off or IIRC TCR screwdriver bits that grip better and don't round the heads off as easily and smooth ratchet action makes a difference and makes the job more pleasurable.

When I went to Mac's Grainstorm day even though he has snide crap on tools I was very impressed with how well organised and tidy they are. IIRC As Mary Poppins says "everything has a place and everything in it's place" That would be my ideal tool set up just with genuine Snap On. I would also like a workbench and vice, with some bench tools, somewhere warm and dry. I dream on......

No.

At the last count I had 20.

If you want to come round some time I can test the effectiveness of one blow to the back of your head & then we'll see if your dead or not...

Does that count ?

  Sounds like a good plan. I like the idea, it might knock some sense into me, but I would rather visit another dimension and not come back. It's a very nice place to be
