Re: Rearsets
Have you connected the gear linkage up yet and is it okay with the new placement of the gear lever that far outwards compared to the original?
Just wondered if it was going to hit the side of the bellypan or have a bit of an angle to it when it's all connected?

Why ask... sometime you just go to do it and find out?
Re: Rearsets
Just a quick update on the rearsets -

Just need finishing off. Not sure whether to paint them or polish and lacquer them.

Looking good there Kevin
Re: Rearsets
The spare VTR mounts were £10 for the two (one being donated by Duffy, ta mate), the Thai rearsets were £39 if I remember right and the welding was £50. The brake bracket I made myself and the brake light switch was a tenner. Then just time, Oh and McGill motorsport rose joints.bigspanishmarty wrote:they're looking good mate, how much has it cost you to put them together?

Re: Rearsets
Fitted the home made rearsets today -

I used a Rothenberger mini pipe bender to put a kink in the gearchange rod to line everything up correctly.

Dropped a bit of a ricket with the rear master cylinder bracket and set it way to upright to get the correct angle on the lever. It will need a bit of adaption tomorrow. I will also need to knock up a couple of brackets to support the lower exhaust mounts. All good.

Re: Rearsets
They look good Kev. You can hardly see the welds on the bracket now and they have polished up well. Why not just abandon the lower mounts, you don't need them. If the top mount is solid and the connection at the downpipe is tight then it should be all OK. Just trim the clips of the Scorpian link pipes.

Re: Rearsets
I like the idea of having them supported top and bottom and I have the material to knock them up with. I need to knock up the heel plates as well. I have cut some out of CF but just need to trim them up.
