First thing this morning after attending the wee screaming bundle of 'joy' I got the WD40 out and gave the drain out hole a wee 'poke and squirt' ... It needed a little effort to get the WD40 straw in as there was a lot of blockage. But once done gave it a good shot of the good stuff. When I was warming the bike up it seemed to clunk a few times and then went away, on the way into work it was a good ride. Didn't clunk once and was pretty well behaved.
Ok excuse my mechanical stupidity but what is a CUSH DRIVE? I have heard of it before but just never thought about checking it out

The cush drive rubbers sit underneath the rear sprocket carrier. They are rubber like and shaped like pieces of pie. The purpose is to help reduce stress from the torque of the engine as drive is applied.
i am absolutly convinced that my version of this problem is electrical. if I run the engine at 4K revs 3rd or 4th gear and start to open the throttle gently I can start to induce a slight misfire as I make the engine work harder, and it feels just like every 10th firing pulse is missing. Its not dramatic, but it means I drop a gear and rev the engine rather than rollong out of corners hard using the torque curve
I checked the stick coils were fully on, and was able to push the front one on a bit more and perhaps the problem got a bit beter but not fixed.
Any body else have a similar problem?
As a side problem I am also sure my heated grips are going hot and cold when they used to stay constant, and I was also convinced my headlight brightness was changing when I was out in the evening over the weekend, but very subtle so it could have been in my head.
But all these things make me thing I have an electrical issue
Will be checking the wiring loom connections and making sure the ECU is correctly connected then working from there to the regulator and stator
