Cafe racer. Finished winter project, might be worth a look.
Hi chaps, since I've just discovered how to post photo's, I thought i'd share some pics of my Café racer project. I know it's not a Storm or super blingy, but might just bring a smile to someone's face :-)
Cg125 with humble beginnings. ^
Strip down & clean up. ^
Major components fabricated & fitted. ^
All done! ^
It brightened my day whenever I pulled it out the garage and kicked it into life, maybe it's brightened yours a little too :-)

Wow that is a big improvement. But the engine lets it down The last time I rode a CG I killed it. Popped over 3/4's of the spokes on bends so wheels wobbled all over the place and killed the bearings. And Then I went on to kill the engine. The best bit of all, it wasn't my bike.

That works surprisingly well mate Needs a reverse cone shaped pipe rather than the straight one, then it will look the dogs

I haven't met you yet Carl, but if I do, and for some reason we get into the situation where you need to borrow a Storm... Please Please borrow someone else's!!
The main reason I decided to 'Cafe' a Cg125 was due to my total budget being set at £400, so worked out the Cg must be possible for a shoe string project! Yes you're right, a twin 250+ engine would have been nice, to be honest 70mph is enough for this little frame

That would look lovely! The straight exhaust you can see is a table leg from B&Q £7.50!

Riding an old 125 is bloody good fun, I have a 76 KH125 that I ride round on in the summer, and 70 is fun when it takes so long to get there.....and you do everything you can to make sure you don't waste any momentum

That's inventive. The straight exhaust you can see is a table leg from B&Q £7.50!
It was hire bike I hired of my boss while a courier as my bike was off the road at at the time. I think I got my moneys worth out of it.
Have you see Flatline's cafe racer project.

So true, it's an entirely different challenge! Really takes me back to being 16/17yrs old. I had a C90 and couldn't afford a new rear inner tube, so stuffed the tyre with old pants and socks! Did 41mph with inflated inner tube and 41mph with pants and socks in the tyre my Kawasaki AR125LC was my first taste of 70mphAMCQ46 wrote:Riding an old 125 is bloody good fun, I have a 76 KH125 that I ride round on in the summer, and 70 is fun when it takes so long to get there.....and you do everything you can to make sure you don't waste any momentum

Literally rode the wheels off the poor old girl then?!
Wow, now a 750 Ducati, that's something I'd like to have a ride on it's good to thumb through Flatline's thread and see the progress, some great suggestions in there too.
I'm glad I started the CG125 cafe project, but equally glad it's done & dusted now!
