Re: goodbye storm
If you want to slow down pull the rear coil that will do it or time it 180 out

Re: goodbye storm
Im with CK on this and most other people by the sounds of it. How do you drive your van/car with restraint??
Know what you mean about pootling around on the storm not fun, but like most other bikes much better when "making progress"
You are neither a sh1t or slow rider and I would imagine you getting frustrated on a less capabale steed.
Track days for the adrenaline rush, IOM to help change your way of thinking, Hire something you fancy for a week and see how it compares, in the meantime sleep on it and give your head a wobble

Re: goodbye storm
Hi M8 ...Mate bought a kwak Versys .. loves it .. he sits high and feels above the level of
the cagers in town traffic ... got a good deal from kwak agent on new machine .. fer cash.....
goodies and alarm thrown in. He has never had a storm like grunt machine
though he likes to travel but is dead wary on motorways , he travels to Stoke often from
Murkeyside ... he takes A roads and Mways only as a last resort.. loves his Versys
though has enough power for him :thumbup

Re: goodbye storm
Just because you change the size/type of bike, this will not automatically slow you down: my fool of a brother on his GS proves this point.
Changing the characteristic of the bike, i.e. my Aprillia still fires out of the corners just as well as the Storm but due to the lack of protection theres no way you will sit at 3 figures bar very short blasts. Don't know why but the C Strips on the Aprillia are almost gone whilst storm ones are twice as thick...

Don't hassle me
I'll get there at some time

Re: goodbye storm
Ady, there are lots of good suggestions in those replys.........Track days to vent the need for speed, then try and add a bit of touring to the mix where it is about the next desitination, not just about how fast you get there. I have also found that taking a pillion and having an intercom can change how you ride and why you ride, you talk about what you are seeing and it opens the door to new way of thinking.
then you learn to see the bike as a gateway to more than one sensation and can start to ride in 2 different modes

Ady,
reading through this again there is one more suggestion...........but you can already guess what it is...............yup, fit some renthals and get a riding position that can work in town and on a slow cruise [but also works just fine when you need to stretch the wires]. it gives the Storm a much broader spectrum of use and then you can keep the bike, but ride in different modes.
For years I resisted as i consider myself a sporty rider, and that ment I should have a bike with clip-ons to fit the image I [and others] expected........Now I have done it I am kicking myself for not doing it years ago. I can ride just as fast when I want to, and when I dont [or shouldnt] its now a fun bike to be on in those conditions.
go on, you know you want to try it
