Double bubble screen
Hi, does a Double Bubble screen make any difference if your 6 ft ? ie better or less buffeting? I was looking at maybe a powerbronze screen.

missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!
Re: Double bubble screen
Im 6'4, and ya it does. If you sit bolt upright youll still feel a bit of wind in your chest, but not full force. But a medium tuck and your into better fuel cosumption on those nasty A roads

+1
I'm also 6'4" and agree that they do make a big difference compared to standard screens. Not so sure how it will be once I have fitted my VFR bars though.

Re: Double bubble screen
i've had most types of screen, and imho the flip up screen offers the best wind protection for someone whose 6ft plus. very rare to find a secondhand one, they cost about £55 new. well worth it....

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!

Down to individual taste, I've just swapped from Flip to a DB and find it quieter. Both are far better than the standard one...

Can do, its sitting in the garage, light tint on it.
Will see if I can get a photo of it and the cost for posting.

Re: Double bubble screen
I had a flip up one on mine and found it to be terrible. At speed the wind was blowing across the bottom of my lid and making my ears drum pop. It was getting so bad it made motorways unbearable.
I'm 5' 11 so it might not be a problem to you taller guys but if anyone is my size and not getting on with a flip up screen try trimming an inch off the top. It changed the whole dynamics of my screen and made it usable again without any loss of protection.

Re: Double bubble screen
Grumpyfrog.. how tall are you? I’m looking to reduce the ‘noise’ and obviously looking at the screen as a main area for improvement, all the other posts are for bigger riders, I’m only coming in at 5’8” I’m hoping that your soser to my height!
(also looking to re-insert my baffles and get a new helmet!)

I'm 6'2".
Do you wear ear plugs? Helmet choice makes a massive difference. Roofs are comfortable but loudest I have had. Arai best. Dainese mid ground.
I can fire down the flip one if you want to try it out?

Re: Double bubble screen
I am 6.2 and used a few double bubble screens and have to say there is a big variation on the turbulence that they generate..........ie the Airblade one wasnt very good, but the pyramid one was pretty quiet.
now I have High bars on I am also using a flip screen as it works better with the sit up riding position.........although I am not a big fan of how it looks

Re: Double bubble screen
yeah I wear ear plugs, the EAR FX 39snr ones.. and still struggle! Helmet is Arai condor, which I think is probably my biggest issue combined with the screen. The visor mechanism protector/cover on the Arai i find acts as air scoops, which the screen currently airms the air right at!
