So you're a Firestorm wizard & a secret chef! I'm starting to wonder if I have any use on this planet, maybe I'm an example of 'what happens if you don't try harder'cybercarl wrote:No I'm surfing the web with Masterchef on in the background. I have already cooked dinner for tonight. Pasta with homemade pasta source, all with fresh produce![]()

Obviously I am "wel dodgey " and the bike is clearly good looking. I sooo glad you agree that yellow is best.
Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Lightly fried some chopped onion, peppers, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, a whole bulb of Garlic
, added some herbs, a dab of balsamic, a bit of Cayenne pepper and a dash of runny honey to counteract the pepper and add some sweetness. Made a roux, added milk and a dash of cream (white source basically) added a bit of cheese. Mixed in the fried stuff and blended it all up and then put a couple of squirts of tommy source in for a bit of colour, then add the source to the pasta not the pasta to the source, so just the right amount. Put it all in an earthenware dish, sprinkled grated cheese on top and sprinkle of Oregano then under grill to brown it all off. Yum.

Today...... well well well.......
I had sent my WP shock off to MCT on Mon and had a phone call yesterday saying it was done and if I paid for it same day they would post it same day, so I did. It arrived today and the plan was to go to Lloydies on Mon and get it fitted. Needless to say I got rather impatient and decided to have a go tonight. Looking at it I thought it would be rather easy. Remove the seat unit, get someone to support the bike and remove the 2 bolts. All was going swimmingly until I came to remove the bottom shock bolt and found there to be a clamp around the exhaust right in the way. That wouldn't come undone for love nor money so it had a good wellying and eventually it came undone. So I tried again. Nope still would not come out. So I managed to loosen the rear studs for the exhaust so it would drop down a little and with a big ratchet (used as a hammer and a flat blade screw driver used as a punch) and a lot of hitting the bolt came out
What I thought may take an hour has turned into 2 1/2 hours but it is now changed over. Still have the rest of the bike to put back together but I shall tackle that one tomorrow.
I do have one question for the more knowledgeable members amongst us..... Why are all the bolts on the suspension/swingarm linkage all pushed through from the right hand side with the nut on the left? the other way round is so much easier!

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
I'll still come over. We may have my exhausts to re pack - assuming the packing turns up. Plus we shall have to learn to do the rear sag and what everything on the shock does, plus test ride. Becides my missus is at work so gets me out and you make a good cup of tea!

Nah I'm not that good. I just make it up as I go along really to a certain degree. Have a look in the cupboards and try use up whatever is available. I never follow recipes. The most important thing is to taste as you make it and play with the flavours. Experiment and see what works and what doesn't work. Sometimes it goes horribly wrong and other times you think fooking hell, this is restaurant quality. Yum YumOkay, I feel bad now. I'm by no means a bad cook but you're really putting me to shame

It's all a learning curve and over time you begin to realise what works and what doesn't. As long as you have your basic principles in cooking then you have a base to work on. Try Blueberries in a Pasta source, that works

OK that's enough food talk. I will start a cooking thread one day as this is the second time we have done this.

I is but a poor apprentice. We buy the bare minimum of what we need and nothing elsecybercarl wrote:Nah I'm not that good. I just make it up as I go along really to a certain degree. Try Blueberries in a Pasta source, that worksI learnt that from experimenting, It sounds like the wrong thong to add to a pasta source but there was a handful in the fridge one day and they needed using up or throwing in the bin. I decided to chuck them in the frying pan with the rest of the ingredients for my source, and to my amazement they worked really well and added a nice edge...a little sweetness to the source.
