Best Double Bubble Screen?

Post by Teach72 »

Looking through the site is is fair to say people recommend what they have?

Would like to get one but struggling to decide which brand to go for?

Also not sure to go for be dark or light smoke? (To go with the fast yellow colour)

Opinions welcome please.

Ok by far & away the best make seems to be Fabbri...However they are quite dear new £ 70+ IIRC, but they fit well & are quite strong.

Others on the market either don't fit quite right or crack easy.

I had a light tint DB Fabbri on mine for some time...until I purchased a dark DB of unknown make off the bay...I foolishly sold the Fabbri cheap to Bazza.

That was mistake no. 1!

The one I got had or developed a crack plum in the middle of the screen which you could only see by looking through from the inside.

I also found that when riding it made the speedo very hard to see, this may have been contributory to my accident , as I was looking down for longer at the speedo to check my speed...when I looked back up...eek ! 8O CRUNCH !

I still do have that screen & you can have it if you want it...

The black bits above the fairing fragments...I'm sure I have a box small enough to fit it in, I'll even throw in a roll of tape, can't guarantee all the bits are there, blame Tony he swept it up...

That is such a shame if you had all the bits I'd have had that. I love a good puzzle!

I recently fitted an Airstream DB. It fitted easily without any b8stard.

+1 on fabbri, zero gravity is second option, but fabbri is easier to get. Light tint.

puig is as good as fabbri, I've just let a fabbri go to carlos the jackel, his little eyes lit up when I gave it to him...
personally I use a mra flip screen(same as wickys), I find it the best screen I've ever used, don't go for one of those £25 jobbies on ebay, they don't fit well and they're poor quality...
theres a fabbri screen for sale in bennys items, have a bid on it

Puig are good, have one on mine and it's nice and easy to get underneath when riding at speed (and I wouldn't define myself as short, though I wouldn't say I'm tall either)...

Can't comment what it's like putting it on though, it was on the bike when I bought it

Nice I looked at the photo bucket page. I really like your clear back light too. Thinking of one of those too. Where did you get yours from?

Yes don;t forget MRA screens they have a nice selection of various styles. As for clear light's, the majority of aftermarket ones are LED and include indicators :( Clear with standard bulbs and no indicators are a little tricky to find. But as sheer luck would have it, I found a site last night that sell them. Scroll down about halfway down the page on the left.

What's wrong with LED? And in including indicators?

The built in ones wont pass MOT...apparently. However if you don't connect them it makes no difference.

Nothing wrong with LED if that's what you prefer. But as others have said the indicators wont pass an MOT so are of no use.
