Thanks for your reply, was talking to the guy from pfm in the isle of man in august, the discs he sells though are a bit expensive but he would give me free pads, not sure about spending that much though, i suppose you have to pay for the best.

Yep the pfm are top money but are great personally I'd love a set on the race bike (I just might get some) if I can get a good deal when it's time .

Hi
Had same problem myself. 1 disc. Brought a pair off the forum. Tested & fitted all ok.
You are quite welcome to my old discs. I can have them tested & give run out reading.
I work in coventry if pick up from there is easier.

Thanks for your offer, i'm waiting for a friend to get back to me, but if they can't help i will get back to you soon as, on my failure certificate it says excessive run out (3.2A1m), if anyone knows what that means?

According to the workshop manual. Maximum runout 0.3mm or 0.012 in real money.
I had my replacements tested 0.006 & 0.004. Totally changed feel of the brakes. Old discs you could feel it on the lever at light braking & 1 side pads were half thickness of the others. I will get discs tested at work (some trick test equipment). Only any good to you if within tolerance.

Thanks, i took mine to a place in grantham today to get them sorted, he showed me them after and they were fine, i went home and put the wheel back on the bike and went for another mot, guess what? failed again, he showed me on the rollers how bad they were, no better than the first time :x i'm not wasting anymore money, as you say buy new, that's what i will do.
