Hot erosion of the centre electrode will not cause any damage, really, it just makes the bike misfire, nothing to worry about.
Not our heat range or type anyway.

It effectively retards the ignition,as the spark has to propagate for longer before it can jump the larger gap.

They are probably thinking heating and running hotter or colder than they should so covering their backs.

Me too. At least they only have to worry about getting a rep for poor quality control. Imagine the damage if the center electrods had been dropping out
