Handlebar risers

Post by Nigel75 »

I have recently fitted a baglux tank cover and bag, but I am struggling to reach the bars when the bag is full. does anyone know of any mods that can be done to raise the bars?
I am starting to get a sunken chest

You can fit a set of clip ons off a 2001 onwards Firestorm,
They are about 15mm higher and 8 degrees less angled.

Have a look on the home page(2001 VTR)
Honda part number
53150-MBB-D40ZA
53100-MBB-D40ZA
£80 + vat
A breakers may be the cheaper option, I have checked the fairing part no. for pre and post 2001 and they are the same, so they should not fail the fairing.

Is this good enough for a first post!!!!!

Don't know about the vfr bars but they will probably be about the same price from honda.
I think it was the honda.co.uk sight

I have the Gen-mar risers on mine. Only raises them about 3/4", but it does alleviate some stress. Another 1/2" would be perfect, but then I think they would hit the fairing.

Thanks Scott

I will give them a call.

Wish I was clever enough on a computer to put 'links' on

Will have to get the children to give me some computer lessons

What about fitting a set of bars from a new storm, as these differ from the older ones, I think they sit higher & are angled back more?

I would assume so, but don't hold me to it. As long as they clear the fairing they'd be fine. I would think they would tell you if you had to alter anything on your bike.
