Ohhh you've split your diaphragm !

That's a bugger or potentially a b8stard & then the CSA will be on your case... 8O

Possibly the MacCave Jamie if all else fails, I have a spare tap but would have to check the Diaphragm to make sure its sound...

Before you ask I cant pop round with it no tax I'm afraid...

IIRC I think benny used to make his own out of inner tube or some kind of part from air conditioning units or something  may be a good temporary fix but I would use a genuine part. Jamoi the small hose you can't blow through I think may have one way valve in it as it's a breather. Ones a breather and ones a drain

Using a bicycle inner tuber repair method as it appears what you've done should work as a temporary bodge - but get a fuel tap rebuild kit for longterm reliability.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Risky IMO could go any time leaving you stranded...

By the time you read this you should of fitted the one you came down a picked up from me...

Hope it works OK.

Don't forget to mark up or throw away the bit that you unblocked thus destroying the one way valve...

Which is why petrol pissed out when you fitted it back on...

Keep us posted on any more mechanical mishaps in the future...

Thanks Guys   El President of Grain and Frank the store spider came up trumps after I mauled the fuel tap, what started as a simple perforation in the diaphram has ended in a written off tap

I'll get another tap and send Mac's one back asap.

So, I spent most of today driving a carpy van to Grain & back but, after I've done with all the mothers day stuff in the morning I'll go for a much needed spin.

Note to self... don't start your day by posting "nothing has annoyed me today" in this thread... it'll only bite you back in the butt cheek!!!

Cheers everyone

everything about the bloody black bike I had was a wrong'un, I assume that's where the fuel tap came from, the person that owned that bike was a total bodger....
glad to hear you sorted it, when me and carl aka laurel and hardy checked the fuel tap on my old blue bike, the bloody spring flew out and whilst trying to find it, carl promptly trod on it....
the result was one knackered fuel tap

Calm down Marty... The diaphragm had a split in it. Then Jamie made things worse by ''unblocking'' the vent that points down...which according to Calos O'Laurel has a one way valve in it...

& how the hell can you dare to call someone else a Bodger !!!

people with little dogs !!! now I've nothing against little dogs it's the owners, I've just nearly had a punch up with some guy who accused my dog of attacking his. I accept my dog is pretty big, and he does run up to people if I don't get hold of him, but all he wants to do is sniff at the other dog see below this is him 6 months ago, he's 18 months old now so essencially still a pup.

Image

What annoys me is people screaming and shouting at me that my dog is killing theirs while it's patently obvious that’s not the case, if my dog (Griff) properly attacked say a spaniel I agree he could do a lot of damage, but the owners (including this guy tonight) don’t seem to realise the absence of any injury to their dog suggests it hasn’t actuallybeen attacked, merely sniffed at.

Rant over I need a drink
I've now gone all European and bought a KTM Superduke GT and Aprilia RSV1000R :D ,
Storm is now gone  .
