Hi all , ive just performed a bafflectory on the storm.
thought id list the results of decibel readings as follows for any one who is pondering doing it.
all done with warm engine
standard cans
0.5 metre from can 1200rpm 81db , 1 metre from can 1200rpm 79db
0.5 metre from can 5000rpm 93db , 1 metre from can 5000rpm 91db
post bafflectomy
0.5 metre from can 1200rpm 88db , 1 metre from can 1200rpm 83db
0.5 metre from can 5000rpm 103db , 1 metre from can 5000rpm 98db
ill add the results and pictures when ive fitted some db killers from fleabay item number 270704566246 which should take the edge of them for trackdays etc , all though they seem to test just under the 105db level that most tracks do now at 50% max revs so who knows , its allways best to have some db killers with you just in case eh.
with above mentioned baffles fitted
0.5 metre from can 1200rpm 85db , 1 metre from can 1200rpm 80db
0.5 metre from can 5000rpm 96db , 1 metre from can 5000rpm 93db
as you can see from the above results those specific db killers really work and look quite nice fitted , not quite that same deep rumble as without them post bafflectomy but at least they work for track days if needed.

When I did a trackday at Rockingham it was a limit of 105dB and it was done at 5000rpm on the 'storm, so you're plenty safe..
Worth taking them along just incase, although do try and pass without them in first

i failed miserably there at 147db at 5000 rpm. put the baffles back in and got 117 at 5000 they let me ride, i took the buggers out as soon as i left the track, joy!!!Virt wrote:When I did a trackday at Rockingham it was a limit of 105dB and it was done at 5000rpm on the 'storm, so you're plenty safe..

missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!
