not turning over!

Post by grumpyfrog »

she's been out of action for a bit due to some cosmetics, but she just won't turn over.
been fully charged, taken off the starter motor, cleaned up the connection, turned the engine over by hand, the relay ticks when trying to start, checked the fuses, connections to the battery.
Please help before I have a breakdown?

Have you had the plug connectors up front behind the dash all disconnected. If so there are two plugs that can get mixed up. AP done this on his bike once and all one got was a click from the starter relay. IIRC one of the plugs that gets mixed up is the one from the engine cut out switch. I would double check your wiring and colouring blocks if you have had all the connectors disconnected.

I got the starter and indicator plugs mixed up and when I pressed the stRter the indicator relay ticked !!

If you haven't had the plugs a part behind the dash try running a live to the starter motor and see if it spins ! That will rule the starter motor out .

That's the one. It's not the starter relay clicking

nope not the plugs mixed up. All checked and colour matched . It does try to turn some time, but just like 1/4 turn then the relay just ticks away?
