foam triangles

Post by BigVeeGrin »

I think this has been covered before, but the two little foam triangles in te air box, what do they do and how essential are they? Mine are getting a bit manky and fragile, so wondering what others use/do, or just replace - at £5 a pop seems a little steep!

there must be better price somewhere (David Silver?), even though prices in UK are higher. Reasonable price is up to 3 pounds.

For example:

e: I´ve just realized David Silver is not an option :-)

David silver is £6.60 each inc VAT plus delivery. A Dutch site is €2 each plus €10 delivery. Think I'll pop into the honda dealer down the road, at least you wont pay delivery charges for the oem part etc etc

Yep or you can get a bit of filter foam from an aquarium shop. If you get prper filter foam from eBay (it's cheap enough) you will have loads, enough to last you 10 years.

good stuff - wasn't sure if there is a certain 'grade' / density / type of foam that is critical, or whether I'm over complicating this!

btw £6.0 each at the honda shop 8O

You don't want anything too course otherwise crap will get through  They should be lightly oiled too which helps catch fine particles.

Trim a washing up sponge with scissors.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
