well,i was worried on hearing about the ccts going pop...one guy had a 1432 repair bill when just the front cct went!!!! 8O ..so i did the mod to immobilise the spring, which is the only thing that breaks inside them.of course ive had this mod on my bike for the past 7000+miles and all is well.and for the sake of 40p for bolts and a bit of grinding, its one less thing to worry about.cheers. :D

Got it so now you don't have to change the tensioner at all? That'll be it now for life. Cool idea. Does it actually keep the pressure up then? Obviously.....duh your bike still running :-)

well ,,to be doubly safe i used new ccts, then modded them,i just clicked the modded bolt and nut into the back and installed them as per manual.and every year i just undo locknut while the engine is running, and let it tension a bit more and do up the nut!!all done and sorted. :D
