Post by bigtwinthing »

It's the long arm Yamaha mirrors that people use,

I fitted some. IIRC I had to change the foot to a Storm one so they weren't a direct fit.

Didn't like them as they sat lower & TBH I saw more out of the properly adjusted std Storm ones.
Quickly removed & sold to Murv...

May be it's just me but I can get the right hand one adjusted fine the left just needs a slight elbow flex to see out of.

Tried the extenders, yep they work but they do look a bit pants IMO...

Standard mirrors.

R1 unknown year changed the foot on to Storm fittings.

A Quote taken from this older link shows how they look without changing the original Yamaha angle as Mac did with his. You don't have to use a mirror extender like this guy did:-

Here are a few photo's maybe some of the other guys will recognise them!
I put them on with mirror spacers but I'm thinking of trying them without the spacer

I must admit, like Mac I have tried them, but didn't get on with them. I extended the original ones instead. You may be okay with these Paul, seeing as you have a flat bar conversion, the way I had the Yam mirrors set I found them to close to me with the clip-on bars.

Mirrors.....there's a whole hall of them somewhere.

What wrong with using Richards extenders on standard mirrors. They are the best solution IMO. Otherwise you will be getting into the modding zone.

As said they look a bit pants...

They work & they work very well, not knocking them in that respect...to me they look 'orible...might as well paint the bike T***...

Didn't someone extend the mirror arm?
I remember seeing the post & thought it was a good job.
just a lot of work. The extenders were an experiment but work well & are functional. I like the style of the standard mirrors & prefer them to r1.
It's all down to personal preference.
Some people see great with standard mirrors 8O
I had to change something.
Extenders look ok from on the bike but wish i didn't need them at all

I extended the standard mirrors by cutting the arm in half, drilling at tapping them and fitting screwed rod in between. Then covered the rod in metallic filler and painted black.

Any chance we could see a picture of these on your bike ?

Also I presume you have wired in the LEDs to your indicators?

Thanks
