I reckon it will still be quite highly priced. Have you seen how much they sell for now. They seem to be increasing all the time. What's the mileage?

Re: Skimming Discs
Thanks for putting the pics up.
The bike has not turned a wheel for nearly 2 years and is an 03 plate with less than 20k on the clock.
In that time it has bee sitting in a garden 200 yards from the sea as the corrosion shows.
Since I sold my last SP I have looked and looked and there are plenty out there in good order but at a big price, there are also plenty of good used ones that peeps are hanging on to.
A pal told me about it and I made the chap what I thought was a reasonable offer considering what will need to be done to it,he accepted and I will be picking it up shortly.
Cant get on the computer at moment as the young fellow is hogging the line so I hope this works off the phone.
will keep updates on my progress
cheers

Re: Skimming Discs
Hi All,
As you can see from the pics there is a long list of stuff to be done.
Chain and Sprockets.
Brake and clutch lines.
Overhaul brakes
Discs.
Suspension.
General corrosion removal.
Rust on bot of tank to sort out.
Tyres.
Battery.
Get it going, etc,etc,etc
This is going to take a bit of time but fingers crossed I will manage, as the last 2 years 3 months and 9 days being without a bike have been hard I may be an old duffer but I still have a passion for a good bike.
Cheers

Re: Skimming Discs
that is the saddest sp1 I've ever seen, if you can get it looking mint again, it'll be a great investment, as their prices are rising...

Re: Skimming Discs
Well I finally got the "Skimming Discs" project home.
After a clean to remove all the vegetation it doesn't look all that bad.
After a quick look, late yesterday everything I reckoned initially will still need to be done, apart from the tank and the discs as they cleaned up fine but the oil lines from the cooler looked shot + the exhaust downpipes rusty as F--ck, still have to strip the fairings off it.
The search for bits begins in a few weeks.
Mileage estimated at around 12k also got a set of Blue Flame Evo cans with it , toolkit and seat hump cover.
Cheers
