This is essential info if you do a lot of miles.
This might be of interest...............
Did you know that every time your car passes a digital speed camera, even
at only 1MPH over the limit, it is entered on a data base?
You are only issued with a ticket if you are way over the limit, or,and
this is the interesting bit), if you register over 10 near misses you
will be classified as a serial offender and be issued a ticket the next
time your car is over the limit! This is why you hear of people being
fined for doing just 34MPH in a 30MPH area, or 72MPH on a
motorway,etc....
Under the Freedom of Information act you can now get access to speed
camera offences registered during the previous 12 months. You are now
able to check your registration against the database by logging on to:-
http://www.e-database.co.uk
You are asked for a password, but if you click on the "need a password"
link you will be given one that you can use straight
away, you can also use this in the future.
If there is any data on your vehicle you can click on to the camera
window to see a copy of the photograph of you. This
obviously comes in handy if you wish to challenge the charges against
you!
