As I know we have some experienced fairing repairers on here I hope hope no one minds me posting on here for some advice on my non vtr purchase.
I decided to save over a grand and go for a cat d salvage triumph sprint st 1050, it has damage to 3 panels the worst of which is the headlight surround.

Is the headlight surround beyond repair? For this to be a worthwhile purchase which I'm planning to keep for quite a few years I need to repair as cheaply as poss, I'm not after a unflawed bike just one that looks okay.

This is a fibre glass replacement from http://www.perfect fairings.com , is it better to buy one of these to save hassle and have it pro respray? The original seems quite flimsy and don't come up on ebay as they probably are too badly damaged to sell.

As for the large fairing and mud guard I'm just going to tidy up with touch up paint and keep an eye out for decent replacements that come up on ebay .

Re: Fairing repair..
Unless you have the missing fragments then yes it'd be tricky to make as new. If you have an old ABS fairing to cut about to bridge the missing gap/s and can plastic weld / fill / faff around then you might be able to bodge something up.Is the headlight surround beyond repair?
Or contact breakers to see if they have a damaged fairing (on different side) going cheap and between the two / graft the damage to make one good one.

Listing ended now, was it up at £2500 ?, you can get un crashed ones for £3000, seemed a bit much for a cat D.
Also those Triumph don't like being on their side, if the engine stays running they starve the crank of oil quickly, then it's new engine.

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: Fairing repair..
I got it for £2300 and to be honest I have looked at several uncrashed ones and they were tatty without the extras that's on this one and they were 05 plate which were before a few revisions of the 06. I have all the luggage included with this. And it runs and rides fine.
