New member from Denmark!
Hi!
Now I been on the forum for some time and now it's time to say hi!
I bought my first VTR 2 months ago! I got 700 km on it before the season ended the 30. November.
It's a low mileage bike from 1999 with nearly 11000 km on the clock and of course it's black with red decals.
I am so exited for the comming season and in the winter I have a lot of plans.
This is my plans:
M-cct's
New oil
Kn oil filter
Kn air filter
Pirelli ANGEL GT front and rear tire
Belly pan.
NGK iridium spark plugs
Most of it is already bought and ready to mount. Just need the time.

Hello and welcome .
If it's got a standard air filter fitted ,just replace it with a new one unless you want to get it jetted on a dyno

Re: New member from Denmark!
Its my plan to get it on a dyno. Just dont know if I should find som aftermarket cans for it or stick with the standard cans.lloydie wrote:Hello and welcome .

Re: New member from Denmark!
If your going to fit open cans too then a dyno set up is a must
Re: New member from Denmark!
Yes i know. Just don't know if the kn will give any effect without open cans?lloydie wrote:If your going to fit open cans too then a dyno set up is a must

Re: New member from Denmark!
Oh it will !.
The k&n on its own will mess it right up .
It'll run rich like you won't believe (yes rich as this bikes ain't normal. The more air you give them the richer they run).
I've had best results with a standard filter and rejected for open cans .

So you are saying that the kn alone is a bad investment even if it gets on a dyno?lloydie wrote:Oh it will !.

Don't know what you mean by running rich?

Hi there and welcome
Nice to see a newbie clued up meaning on the ball:)
No matter what open cans or not if you fit a K&N filter you will need to rejet regardless. Start off with CCT's and reg rec get that right then move on

That's a shame , if you fit it you will need to rejet for it and it won't gain you any extra ggs .SKMXL wrote:That's not good! I already bought the kn filter.Watty wrote:Welcome aboard and bin the K&N! More bother than its worth! Standard all the way
The r/r on the early models fail , check to see if yours has cooking Fins ,if it has it should be ok but it's also worth while checking the output .
