side stand switch
My bike done a "carb fart" and stalled while sitting in traffic and when i pulled in the clutch and pressed the starter nothing happened,it's idling at 1100/1200 rpm.My question is should it have engaged the starter motor with clutch in and in gear. The starter engaged when i put it in neutral.Every other bike i've owned have re-started while in gear and clutch pulled in.Could it be a faulty switch either clutch or side stand ? It stalls when put in gear with side stand down which i know is normal.

Re: side stand switch
There are 2 connections by the clutch lever, check they're both connected. If one or both are off it will need to be in neutral to start.

Re: side stand switch
Both wires are on the clutch switch.

Re: side stand switch
Have you got a multimeter to check the switch is working? As far as I can tell from the wiring diagram the clutch switch is connected to the side stand switch and the ICM one side and the starter relay and a diode on the other, so not too many things to check.
I'd go with the Clutch switch or the diode
I'd go with the Clutch switch or the diode

I think it's the clutch switch.I'll get a new one over the weekend and try it.
