Hole in Exhaust
Hole in Exhaust
Hi All
Is it normal to have a small hole in the exhaust headers as they join with the link-pipe?
Cheers

It's not a hole it's then end of the slit, it looks like that link pipe is not in fully. You best get a new clamp too.

Re: Hole in Exhaust
iirc you want W4 marine grade mikalor clamps, they will last longer.....

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: Hole in Exhaust
It's a drain hole for moisture to escape, and to allow air to get in and cause small exhaust farts on the over run.
That's my excuse, and i'm sticking with it.

Re: Hole in Exhaust
It's (mostly) sorted now. Refit the link pipe and moved the clamp. Gonna order gaskets and new clamps ready for the new cans going on too :-)
Cheers!

Re: Hole in Exhaust
don't forget to order Mikalor stainless clamps, I think you need the W4, the W2 are stainless clamp band and zinc plated bolt, W4 are stainless throughout.Demonic69 wrote:It's (mostly) sorted now. Someone else will confirm this for me.
Re: Hole in Exhaust
Hi Bazza
Yeah, the W4 are full stainless and look good (after a quick Google), they'll be getting ordered.

Re: Hole in Exhaust
Yup fully SS W4s are the way to go. Make sure you measure the diameter of what you want clamped so you get the right size - as it can depend on the particular link pipe/header interface.
Also depending on the condition of the graphite seals between the header / link pipe you might need new uns.
