Wheel rotation

Post by john306 »

Hi, last week I took my front wheel in to be powder coated along with new tyre, it's all done and at tyre fitters now, just had a call as to which way around tyre fits as there are no rotation markings on the wheel itself.
Is there a quick way to tell him over the phone as I can't get round there?
Thanks

Hi John, if you imagine the 3 spokes have a profile of a wing.

The fattest part runs through the air first.

Does it make sense?

Yes it does thanks, so to confirm, that means all the writing (Honda, tubeless, ettc) would be on the right side?
Cheers.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Just popped to the shed, all the writing is on the right when sitting on the bike

Excellent thanks.
It never occurred to me there would be some confusion over fitting.

Just make sure you have the rotation direction arrows on the discs the right way round.
It doesn't seem to make a difference, but every time you park it someone will tell you your wheel's in backwards...
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
