It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

thanks boys it seems to me the bar conversions are a matter of own taste some of you go full yoke and trim fairing where some go for risers without too much hassle and try to avoid fairing chop so my gut feeling is to get the risers. fit fat bar pro taper bars and just cut/chop /lenghthen whatever needs altering wombles it ,ta all

If you do that; suggest you get a good thick screen which will take the strain without needing the support of the fairing "ears" each side.
And don't forget the longer brake and clutch lines, otherwise you'll be left with no brakes after the first wheelie!
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

And remember that when high bars are used the bike will handle different as less weight will be over the front wheel .

That's one thing which is putting me off doing the bar conversion to mine
I've not got long enough legs to raise the rear anymore to compensate, and I luv the way it handles now too.

I know I should give it a try, even if it's only for 12mths,

If anyone has fireblade front end and wants to do this give me a shout, or even try it out. Yoke and bars hanging up in shed.

You can lower the front by 10mm as it'll put some weight back on the front but it'll also. Turn in faster .

I found, for me 6mm about right with clip-on bars, I tried more but it was not for me. Perhaps you can get away with more if you do the bar conversion with less weight being over the front end,

Whatever slight changes it makes to handling its worth doing because storms really are nice with the high bars

you can get the bike to handle nicely with a bit more sag on the front. I think my bike is better now with the high bars, I have never been known for slow cornering :D
