Hi all,

The end of the saga.
Spent Saturday morning dismantling the bike, checking all fuses, and connections.
Nothing out of the ordinary, a few contacts cleaned, just to be sure.

Took the battery to local Honda dealer, total FUBAR.

New battery put on Sunday, and LIFE, we're back up and running, much to the neighbours disgust I think.

Thanks everyone for their pointers, greatly appreciated.

Still got no idea though why the battery dies so suddenly, so maybe out not quite out of the woods yet.
If you think you are right, or if you think you are wrong, you are right!

If battery has gone completely flat or run low that can kill it - ususal cause of non-recharging battery is a dodgy Regulator / Rectifier. Check that the charging system is working and replace R/R with a later finned upgraded R/R or ideally a MOSFET type R/R.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
