Took it to the garage today & they reckon it's the starter clutch, now to source one asap

Trying to bump start the VTR in cold weather when this first happened to me was really interesting!
Design flaw!

Hope you find your other gremlins :D

It's just the starter clutch, everything that has been happening, all the symptoms I think have pointed to this. It screeches a few times, starts of slow then speeds up until it fires. The battery is good, the reg/rec is doing its job, the starter solenoid is working ran my multimeter/battery checker on them & they were all fine
