SS Header Flange

Post by VTR Phoenix »

The headers on my storm are fine and rust/damage free. What isn't so good though is the flange that connects the headers to the engine. The front one is especially rusted and down to half the thickness it should be. I am in talking with a company about getting a two piece flange made up to replace the original. This means that it's just a case of cutting off the old one and replacing with the two piece flange. No having to cut or weld the pipe required to replace it. I'm hoping to have a couple of test flanges made out of SS and will trial fit them. They will be the same as the old Kawasaki 2 piece flange but made to fit the storm as I am providing an old flange to be used as a template.

Wondering if anyone on here would be interested if I were to get a batch made up? As it stands at the moment I have no idea of unit cost as stated still in the discussion stage at the moment.

These are what I am referring to.

 Yes brilliant idea I'm on my 3rd header and it was always the flange fing that failed from disintegration rather than the header pipe.

I will have to check the other 3, Nue Red is OK as it has a different system on it...

I know what you mean Mac, the rear on might is near perfect, it's just the front, and yes I'll be selling them individually (one complete flange). Still waiting to hear back from them but I think I'll take a trip there to see them.

OK, so update is I've been to see them, asked for 2 to be made initially then a batch of 30. I think the fairest thing to do on here is split the cost between the 30 and just add p&p for anyone that wants any on here. FB and eBay however will be a different story. Once I get the price I'll post that up then any one that would like one or two give me a shout.

Thanks for all the reply's, I'll make a list of those that want one and PM when they are ready. I'm hoping toward end of next week if the price and test piece is good. I'll still update this post as well though.
