That to me looks like a German made Bella Zundapp ,my mate had one in the late 1960's I think...built like a frauline's bra straps...they never break either.
Now Brian iv'e a question for you...Have you ever met Henry Cole of Shed and Buried fame ....that black and white one looks familiar .

I managed to stretch the side stand hinge itch too much weight on the bike when I was touring one time. I just took it off when I got home and popped it in the vice to close it up again.
Might be worth a try. Or, if it's just wear and tare, could you put a washer in there to act as a spacer
