Portland and back today, cranking it up a bit. It does tramp on, seriously comfy and a superb view along the road. had a blast with a guy on a fixer 750 from dorchester to ringwood.

I had a spirited if cold and wet 100 ride in the rain this evening.
as some might remember, many years ago I bought some dan moto bar risers, and they we're awful, because of this, I've not knowingly purchased anything from china. of course there's always the chance that the part you buy is originating there with out you knowing it.
but recently my left leg has been giving me issues on the bike, and i'm unable to move my left foot when it comes to cornering, hence my toe slider is taking a bashing.
so I bit the bullet and looked to solve the issue using a pair of adjustable footpegs from china, if they work well, and it looks like they'll be spot on. I might spend the extra and get a set from the uk, but lets see how these hold up first, they're a 25mm drop, and you can adjust the pedal abgle in 45 degree increments.
after 100 miles i'm impressed, no issues with vibes, I can move my feet easily.
seen as I've started with the pegs being 25mm lower and 45 degree's forward. i'm impressed, I might adjust them with out the 45 degree's forwards and see how that feels.

Saturday round 4 on the Vanstub engine replacement saga...

Checked the valve clearences then introduced the frame to the lump...They said hello but dind't bond very well as the top front engine bolt turned out to be a rear bottom one...So a quick call or four later we headed over to Tony's to pick up the emergency lenght of SS studing to use as an emergency replacement...It was then indserted with plenty of grease & a hand crafted spacer...so all is good for now...

So if anyone happens to have a genuine top front engine mount bolt c/w the spacer for the left hand side, the nut & adjuster doh dah they want to part with Mr Vanstub would be most gratefull...

So all bolts heavily greased up & tightened...

Boxed up & put to bed...Then we watched The superbike race 1...

Got my MOT on the SP today.
Thought I might get some stick about the rear tyre but I got away with just an advisory

New tyre to be sorted ASAP.Just bad timing and laziness on my part to be honest

Set off at 6.30am to sunny Oxford to pick up my ebay collection only purchase. Took the tranny for the comfort, tank range & fuel economy (only one fuel stop on the 300 mile round trip). All went well apart from hitting the M25 stop-start rushhour on the way up. Next time I'll get up earlier or better still not be daft to buy stuff so far away!
