Well. I'm now in the RVI having had a couple of points of blood drained out of my chest. An "interesting" procedure.

A tale of three hospitals. Two very good. One rubbish. Yes, I have numerous broken ribs and a haemathorax.

Now that is bad, how the wombles could the hospital miss broken ribs and blood on the lungs?

No thats about right for some hospitals...Get 'em in...chuck them out...

Yep blood on the lungs should have been picked up sooner but it depends whos looking at the x-ray...

I have to say you don't look very frogish...

Update. Things are looking good. The chest drain came out today. I'd like to say it was a careful surgical procedure but it just fell out when I was having a pee. A couple more days of observation and they should let me go home.

Then???? A beer and a ruby.

Oooo I hate those things. The idea of having something inserted inside my chipolata...yikes. Thankfully mine got inserted while on the operating table.

Unfortunately the NHS and hospital treatment is a bit of a lottery ticket in this day and age. I have had good and bad. It really depends on the doctor and the staff, which hospital and equipment they have and also the time you go there ie how busy are they. You also have to do exactly what they say, turn up for appointments on time etc otherwise you get Black marks on your record and worse treatment the next time. And FFS whatever you do don't tell them your a smoker or you will go to the back of the queue. Unbelievable how many times I have been asked if I smoke. It seems that's their priority. I don't think it's so much about duty of care these days but a matter of sorting out priorities and getting patients in and out as quick as they can. I'm sure the doctors and staff would love to be able to have a duty of care and spend more time with patients but they don't have the time and are pushed by management. Hey....flash some cash in front of them and go private and it might be a diffrent matter.

Take it easy Kermit don't go overdoing things too quickly.
