Cog Question
I currently have standard size front and rear sprockets front and rear. The question is, is it ok to keep the same length chain if I go down one tooth on the front sprocket??

Well if a standard one is 41, that may account for why my speedo is 16% out instead of the usual 14%
I currently have a renthal 42 rear and a 15 front, I was assured the rear was standard and there was too much gunk on me old one for me to be arsed counting em. :wink

Haven't had it on track since I changed the rear, but the 15t has been on pretty much from new. It pulls nicely and there aren't any gaps between gears, never had a problem with it as it is.
It's been to Cadwell, Darley (twice), Oulton Pk and the Nurburgring so far.

That's precisely the problem on standard gearing m8, there's a huge gap between 1st and 2nd. The other gears aren't as bad but the easiest fix is to whack a 15t front or a 43t rear (less severe). The rest of the gearing (3/4/5/6) doesn't suffer as you're only talking a few hundred rpm difference. Plus if you think about it there's less load on the engine too if the gearing is shorter, which is a good thing.

15 tooth sprocker arrived this morning. Hopefully get it done at the weekend.
In the meantime, I fitted a Sigma computer to the bike to give me a realistic speed measurement after I've changed the sprocket.
A usefull wee formaula to have if you've fitted one and are trying to get the callibration correct is -
new_circumference = real_mph * old_circumference / displayed_mph
A good way of doing it is to zero both the origonal trip and the Sigma trip then go for a long ride. Take a note of the recorded trips on both then insert them in the above formula instead of the mph figures.
