Rear LED light with built in Indicators - Legal in UK?

Post by Tempest »

Not really thinking of buying one, but would really fancy one of these.

Do you think they would be legal in the UK?

Having your turn signals integrated into your rear light unit?

Strange but just read about these on a Yamaha Fazer site. The main points were A) They aren't legal and won't pass an MOT, but we all know about changing no plate and cans for this.......... I think, but B) Most importantly as they said do you think a cager with the wife and kids yakking would see this on a summers day?

You could see here for a half way solution? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3AIT&rd=1[/url]

8) Dont know about their legality in the UK, but I have one on my storm and they look great, come with the relays to make sure they flash at the right speed and fit simply, although mine came with US colour wiring, have a few spare fuses ready and prepare for some trial and error :x

Did yours have a "Make" as I've seen a few of these UK and USA and dependent on how they lay the LED's out and the quality/brightness of LED's it could make a big difference.

Ithink I still have the box in the garage somewhere, I will see if I can find it and let you know as soon as. I got it on the net from the UK, the unit has about fifty LEDs in it and the indicators cause the LEDs on the relevant half of the unit to flash amber, very bright and high vis

Ok Tempest, found the box amongst all the crap! If you go to clearalternatives.com and it is Part# ctl-0044 IT. The IT is for integrated taillights but you can get just a direct replacment with just tail and brake lights.
