MEZ3 Tyres

Post by firestorm_al »

Has anyone used Metzeler MEZ3's on their storm. I've missed the boat on the 207RR's our local dealer had but they've got the Metzelers at £146 for a pair fitted. They have the race compund at the same price but i recon the road would be better as I use the bike rof commuting.

I used to alway use Metzelers on my Bandit and loved them. I really need new tyres ASAP so I probably don't have much choice. They did have Pirelli dragons

Tyres

Post by Spitfire »

Al,

Buster's accessories are doing 207RRs for 140 a pair (http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk). I ordered some and they arrived the next day.

Failing that I can't see you going wrong with the Z3s. Obviously a more sport-touring tyre rather than out-and-out sport tyre like the 207RR, but grippy enough for fast road use.

I Cant comment on the Z3s tyres as i have never ran with them but
i have previously used both 207 RR
& also a evo corsa on the front & evo on the rear & these
worked pretty well.but whatever option you go for post & let us know what
& how well they are working on the storm.

MEZ3 Update -

Got them fitted yesteday morning before heading down to Knockhill. They are fully scrubbed in and I'm happy with them. The bike takes a bit more effort to flick from side to side compared to the Bridgestones but they are very predictable and the bike no longer wants to sit up under braking.

Time will tell how long they last.
