Admin and Moderators HELP
Admin and Moderators can you sort out/ get rid of/ ban the porn advertisers that keep trying to high jack the sight.
I'm not a prude, BUT opening up a post to read in the test area that had the porn pictures as an image and not just a link was the final straw for me.
My young son was standing next to my PC talking to me. This is not the sort of stuff I want my kids to see at their age.
Also these sorts of post could get some of us the sack at work if we open up the wrong image intentionally.
Rant over with.

trouble is you cant... Im on great war forums, maico, dirtbikes etc none connected with porn, you can go to Visordown which has less in the way of morals and more a lads forum and its posted by one and all.
as I said, you cant control it other than appoint extra mods to catch them first, its all to do with ease of internet access.
these people join up with no interest in bikes but get a small credit for spending hours pasting links onto forums. Same would apply if you joined a porn forum and started posting links about bikes,
as I said more mods who are on line more often than say those who are at work all day. For example as I work 3-11pm I could do mornings and someone else do afternoons.
best thing is not to open links or threads as they can put diallers onto your pc.

Here's another little tip which might help.Fireman on a Storm wrote:It's piece of mind enough for me that you guys are doing everything you can to keep the sight "clean" from the scum
I know we have our own boobs man in Tony but we are all used to that
If you are unsure of a link just right click on it and look in properties. The full discription of where the link is going will be listed. Sometimes they don't show anthing of any help but if it says some thing like w.big tits are us. wat till the kids are out before you click

Kaz, Soop, talk ta Al, i'm sure he's installed a buffer zone on the ABZ site where new members are held untill they can be checked out, they can't post untill cleared to do so by admin. not sure if it runs on a different system to this site though, he's been re-vamping bits of the site for a while now.

Hi all
Haven't had much chance to keep up with the site for a while, bike stuff has sorta taken a backseat at the moment as the Zed as it's now SORN'd until spring. Started getting notifications each time someone tries to join the site so presumably Al has turned off account auto-activation. Just trawled through about 60 inactive user accounts of which about 5 were possibly genuine...!! Frickin spammers are a waste of oxygen if you ask me....
Hopefully the spam issue should go away now that it requires either me or Al to enable people's accounts (and I don't know how to do it without also changin their passwords!) I'll try and keep up with things a bit more especially over the hols
Take care all

Yeah and therein lies the problem. Deleting bogus/spam user accounts is the easy bit, I can't suss a way to activate new genuine users though without changing their passwords (maybe Al knows a way). When someone creates an account as far as I can see there's no straightforward allow/disallow screen.
I'll PM Al to see if he can shed any light on it. I'm ok with one of you guys having that facility if it's in there somewhere.
