Just noticed this sound quite recently, bike is still running perfectly,has 27000 on the clock, would really prefer if it did not blow up!!!!
Lead! Follow or get out of the way. And RED is the fastest colour

:D Cheers Kaz it is due a new chain and sprocket, was trying to hold off until the weather improved as I use it regularly but if it has to be changed then so be it. Thanks again

Getting back to the original question :!:

It could be the CCT (cam chain tensioner) but without hearing the bike it's not easy to say, it could be something else. The front ones usually go first, so if the noise is also near the front of the engine it's a good possibility that it is the CCT.

I would get it checked out if it were me, get your local garage to have a listen, because if it is the CCT thats showing signs of packing up, when it does it could be expensive.
