Thinking of swopping my CBR600RR

Post by stevielomax »

Hi Guys

Got a CBR600RR and had 4000 miles of fun.
Problem is my wife has'nt and hates it.
I had a VTEC VFR prior the CBR600RR and I like the sportier bike.

So I have been thinking of swopping it for a Firestorm.
I have been offered a brand new Blue Pre registered Firestorm has a straight swop.

My I idea is to keep the sporty feel and keep my wife pleased with the better seating. Also stick with Honda and I have never had a twin?

She does'nt come out every week but does enjoy the odd run.

Any information/confirm my interest would be appreciated

Thanks Stevie

Buy a used blackbird, it's the best 2-up sportsbike around..

I haven't done a whole lot of 2up riding on the storm, but when i have the pillion has not been too comfy. Having had a viffer myself, i would recomend getting another viffer. Great fun bike that is more than capable of going 2up (at speed too). :P

Yeah I agree with Proudest Monkey.
If the Mrs isn't too keen on the back of the VFR or CBR she will positively hate the Storm pillion.
My Mrs puts up with it but it's not worth taking her more than 50-60 miles cause all her windging about her sore ass gives me a headache

According to my wife, the pillion seat on the storm is perfectly ok....

should doesnt go on there huge amounts, but she did about 1000 miles last year with no complaints...

Must agree with Essexbloke my girlfriend had no complaints on a 250 mile trip plus with the tank range you will have to stop often anyway.
Mind you coming back from a trip to europe last year got 135 miles before the reserve started flashing and we did have a train to catch which we were late for

My wife says the pillion seat is great and that was after CBR. Done a few 200+ mile trips and she seems happier at the end than I am!

Me and my brother did 3K miles round europe last year on the VTR in 4 weeks! Spent 7/8 hours riding some days and he was ok. Alright it's not a tourer but for the odd weekend and trips away i feel it would be ideal.

You can get pre-reg Firestorm F3 models from Dobles at £4995 otr., & I'll bet you would get shed loads more than that for your RR if you sold it privately. Just think of all the trinkets you could buy for a new VTR with the extra cash!

A straight swap doesn't look like a very good deal to me.

Just as a matter of interest I traded a 2001 CBR600F-Sport 3 months ago to a dealer for £4600.
