Another new bloke...

Post by Hankie »

Hi All, you got another newbie wiv a Storm here. Not been on a bike for years - last being a Kawa Z750 about 15 years ago - but I got a licence, a few spare quid, and very soon a lot of free time. So I bought an old-ish Storm, a '99 banana yellow one that's done 13K and looks well cared for. I'll likely spend more time taking it apart and putting it back together than riding it... I've got a good collection of machine tools to make mods for it. I live in Macclesfield which is handy for nice runs up in the Pennines (10 miles from the Cat 'n Fiddle). Not far from Matlock either.

Eyup matey - welcome to the asylum.

Nice place to be for lots o' nice roads.

You could be more popular than you could ever imagine being where you are and having lotso machine tools for mods!

You got a bunk house in the garden too? (bar optional as long as there's a Tecso nearby) 8O

Make yourself at home and don't feed the animals - they're mainly house trained but can nip!

Thanks for the welcome! RedStormV - No bunk house but I do have a leaky shed :) or, there's always a couch or floor :))

This is what I bought of a bloke in Buxton - nice chap but reckons he's too old for biking now at 62! Threw in a hugger, stand and original cans/screen etc. It's certainly very... yellow. Spotted it on fleabay, thought I'd lost out but the winner said his missus told him after he won the bidding that he couldn't buy it (!) Second in line just didn't bother, so that left me as the highest bidder.

Me workshop/garage :D
Not much chance of getting a car in there, but I think the 'storm will fit (just). I'll have to back it out a bit when I need to work in there. I used to machine parts for telescopes and guitars, now I'll have to look into goodies for the bike.

First thing will be bar raisers I think - me back doesn't bend as well as it used to.
