a weeeeee bit miffed,,,

Post by chuxsta »

hi all,,,

as time goes on im slowly finding little things here n there on my storm.
have only had it 2 months now, after buying it from a shop rather than a private sale i was payin that bit extra for piece of mind.

first i find its been dropped or had a low speed drop on the left side.
due to this the air scoop on that side rattles slilghty cause its not fitted correctly. can be fixed but means my time to take it all to bits,
found a scuff n dent on the left can, small but there non the less,
had to replace the clutch lever cause it was bent,
when fitting my new black double bubble screen, which i got for £5.50 of ebay and was able to collect, BARGAIN!!!!! as i removed the old screen the right hand side top fairing strip the very thin bit after the mirror mounting point that runs up to the top screen fixing point has a huge crack from either side and was obviously botched up with something that has now come loose as i removed the screen.

does any one know if i have any rights or grounds to go back to the shop for sh1t like this.

Don’t think you can do much about cosmetic damage as it was there when you got it
That’s why it’s always a good idea to take a pessimistic m8 along with you to have a look before buying
They’ll spot most of the things wrong with it before hand.
its all to easy to get carried away in the getting a new bike syndrome
And you need to remember its second hand a good second hand bike usually gets sold privately often by word of mouth and a bit iffy one will be traded in so to get a better price

Doubt you'll get any compensation now m8, but nothing you've found sounds serious. I know when I bought mine I thought it was perfect - only to find later a small crack in the fairing around one of the indicators, and the chain completely sh*gged. So long as the expensive bits (engine/suspension) are good you can tart the rest up as you like.
