agree with VTRbob don't hurt anyone else.
I broke my shoulder blade on a mountain bike last year and if anyone thinks thats selfish I fail to see how. The tree was unharmed!
I'm lucky enough to live somewhere where I'm not treated as a murderer for going a ton on my bike and do so regularly. But I generally keep it cool when there are junctions or other traffic. I also try not to scare people because I think it can cause accidents and bad feeling. Wheelies are rare and I couldn't afford to practice the art. I risk my own neck in a limited way at very little risk to innocents!
A couple of years ago one very hot mad sunday night I took a walk down the prom and witnessed some really scary scenes. Bikes 4 deep going in each direction - some on one wheel. All this with drunk people wandering about. As far as I know nobody was killed, (miracle). What stands out in my mind was some fella on a cbr 600 leaving broadway lights at full acceleration an heading up the hill as fast as he could. He did this through at least 4 gears which is a scary speed for a busy residential street.
There are different levels of acceptability but I think dangerous driving is self explanatory. No respect for dying in this fashion from me I'm afraid
BTW on that note - ever seen a speed (safety?) camera outside a school. Me neither.

"military intelligence, two words combined that can't make sense"
Well said fishface.
I agree totaly on the point of enjoying the moment and not scaring yhself to death.
I,m not a fast rider by any means, but I enjoy myself while i,m out . Whats the point in buying some thing , scaring yhself to death and then leave it in the garage or sell it.
One thing keeps me from being stupid is that I always look at the pic of me 12 year old daughter and ask myself how would she feel going to my last resting place to visit me.
Only a couple of weeks ago , over in linclonshire ,3 bikers were killed on the same day whilst out enjoying the sunny afternoon.
So think on peeps before yh do that good idea as it could be yh last.

good topic and interesting reading from some of your posts on this subject.
its a tricky subject, and the saying there is a time and a place.
i wouldnt say a right time or place just places to lower the chances of accidents.
and people going that bit extra on roads they know is not justifing it at all.
yes it means you are aware of junctions or known dangers.
but knowing the road like the spots on your nob dont lower the chance of some one crossing the road on a blind bend.
some ramblers rambling 3 a breast in the road..
falmer palmer in his 30000tone earthmoving machine turninginto his field.
and i think its a horses for courses when it comes to saying a person is A nob on the road..
i sure if most saw me when traffic riding they would class me as an idiot. infact a woman that works in the same office as me takes the same route to and from work, and she has even said your ( and i quote ) " your a wombles nutcase the way you ride"
but thats not the case.. im just very aggressive when traffic weaving. not fast by any means, just very calculated and planned.
im looking 10 cars ahead clocking every car make and sussing out what type of drivers they are, im also aware of all the cars im passing or are sat behind me.
i would make a great dispatch rider if i could remember where places were and had a better sense of direction. but 15 years of riding to and from work in all weathers on all sorts of bikes. if i had the same track exprience i have in traffic i rekon i would be on the podeum from time to time.
kinda waffled on there cause im typing a bit at a time while at work..
in a nut shell i probably look like a hooligan while making my way through rush hour traffic, but its far from the truth. if people could see what im seeing and know why i just did what i did.

Whislt over at my parents last weekend, I read a report of a bike accident last year in which one of the riders was killed.
It appeared that a group of mates were out for a ride, one of there group according to an eye witness stated that one ride came round the corner with there body hanging over the centre white line .
The next they knew was that this rider had fallen of and his bike collided with the one in front and resulted in him being fetched off and was run over by a landrover coming in the opposite direction.
The court case found the ride guilty of death by dangerous driving and fined him 500 pounds and nine points on his licence.
Not bad for a ride out with yh mates was it. Only takes one person .
