If you ride a horse and trash the green lanes (and although nothing like a 4x4 they do cause damage) or ride the roads in between horseriding routes you get no grief at all. Ride a 125 on a legal green route and every man nad his monkey wants a peice of you

Nothing against horses but why the hell would you ride one on a busy
a-road at peak times 8O Its an animal that can decide to take the rider for an unplanned joyride into a v dangerous situation. Oh and by the way the lincs air ambulance goes to more horserider shouts than motorcycle accidents 8O but the worst offenders are Golfers 8O go figure!

Anyhow horsepoo on roads is wrong diddly !
Sorry for venting my spleen
to my knowledge and was informed by police that there is no legal green lanes for bike riding anymore it was all stopped ages ago i looked into this when i got my ccm i might have been wrongly informed i dunno but i would be the first on an enduro if you could. WRT to riding at peak times i can only speak for my wife and her mates who dont ride at this time usually weekend riders, alot of horse owners arnt so privelidged to be able to ride on fields or green lanes they have no other option but to ride on the road but 9 times out of ten there horses only spook when some Richard decides to pap his horn or rev the bike as they go past and seem to think its funny that the horse is rearing up and carrying on all over the road and yes statistically there are more horse accidents than bikes and golfers well they should be shot on sight by the fashion police wearing all that checked tweed shite

8O 8O 8O 8O 8O

So golfers are worst offenders for sh1tting on roads?

Or for tearing up green lanes?

This I got to read, where's the stats? I knew there'd be a good reason for those baggy pants and spiked shoes!

Always said it was a good walk ruined

IMO all golf links should be turned into crosser tracks - Period

For Alan.

It is a v complicated area of politics, but how I see it is we have fooked ourselves over by not declaring our use of these unclassified routes so the ramblers/horsey types/puritan vegetable folk have ensured that they become footpaths. Any green lane that has been used by motorized vehicles and paperwork filed will remain a green lane. There are many classifications of road that can be used but basically land owners and anti bikers/4 WD are claimimg they are not used so should be re-classified.

For Alan again (no grief just my opinion), I had to commute between Lincs and Malton every weekend for 3yrs and apart from the Race Horse areas where you expect horses to be on the carraigeway there are too many nags on tight A-Roads travelling at 3-6mph 8O a thirty MPH road with a gradual bend with opposing traffic +one horse = accident. Must have seen it 10 times in the space of a year, the driver sees the horse and takes a wide berth, horse becomes skittish and then traffic arrives in opposite direction. Its a farce! If your motorbike power commander had a settings of Skittish/lets stop and eat grass/fook the rider I am off it would be outlawed.
Dont expect anyone to agree its just a rant..... I lived in north Yorks for many years (money and Horses are invincible) always the drivers fault!

Yep me too so I bought another road bike! Really steams my clams as I wanted to do some enduro. Seems far too much hassle and a minefield of legal red tape.
