New front end conversion - the tricky bit....
fireblade yoke with Aluminium stem pressed out to be used for the conversion
top is the fire blade yoke where the donor stem was removed from
the black stem is from the Aprillia
the Fireblade stem now fitted to the Aprillia yokes
The workshop had to make a spacer that was a press fit on the Blade stem, then turn it down till it was the same diameter as the Aprillia stem, then they press fitted and glued that into the Aprillia yoke

The shopping collection
Sachs forks and yokes from a V4 Aprillia Tuono .. I used these as they are then correct length for teh firestorm, have radial brakes and they already have a top yoke that will take flat bars
The mudguard and the brembo calipers

Looking real good Al.
the makings of probably the best front end swap, seeing as the forks are the correct length....

the front wheel .. which I though was a forged OZ wheel, but it isn't, its a cast copy of the newer bikes
then I put the new bearings on the stem and got a bit carried away to see what it might look like on
locksteps look like it might be easier than I thought. I will put a block onto the bottom of the lower front fairing mount, and it will hit the existing stops on the aprillia yoke.

Just wait tilll you try the ignition barrel

never had one on mine .
You really need to get them rsv wheels on the scales as some are lighter than others but all look the same .
I still like the brembo spoked wheels

will you need to move the rads back Al?
I had to when I had the 954 front end, otherwise the lock to lock steering isn't very good. gold usd will always look sexy as hell. just don't go rear ending anyone again, Fabio said he was sore for weeks.....
