i should be mot-ing it tomorrow, lets just hope they pass i'm not confident tho, fingers crossed....
That will depend on who's MOTing it. They will have to turn a blind eye to the exhausts. Lets hope it's one of those old school MOT setups and they don't stick a Decibel meter over the cans, and I suspect they are not BS stamped. You may have to put some road legal cans on for the sake of an MOT!

(:-})
i went and booked the mot for tomorrow, i told the fella about the loud pipes and he said thats fine, the louder the better, f-ing car drivers need to hear bikes coming...
i don't think it will pass tho, i've got to check the fuses because the side lights ain't working, i have got a front sprocket cover on at the moment, i need to mod a standard one to fit because of the spondon frame and finally the chain guard is rubbing against the rear wheel......mmmm
i'll have a look at it in the morning.
i ended up spraying my petrol tank matt black in the dark
it was daylight when i started rubbing it down, oh well the bikes bodywork is a bit of a bodge at the moment, still freshly painted fairings should be ready next week :D

another day of swearing at the bike, but i'm learning along the way.
i had a hell of a job putting the fairing back on, i tried to do it in one whole piece but aftr lots of swearing, i took one side off which made it easier, but theres still something getting in the way of the offside grrrrrrr.
it seemed a lot harder to fit with the airscoops and infil panels fitted to the side fairings. i managed to fit the airscoops/infil panels/front indicators/clear lenses/ led bulbs in the dash, i can't get one to work tho.
heres a few picks of the bike, it needs one hell of a clean from top to bottom.

heres a list of jobs to do before the mot.
fix sidelights (its not a bulb)
fix the rear lugs holding the brake light in place, i broke them trying to bump start the bike last week....doh!
remove led rear light and fit original, or disconnect the led indicators and just have the tail light.
also fit a pair off non led rear indicators
adust handle bars so they don't touch the tank at full lock.
get someone to have a look at the head bearings (don't know where to turn for this one, i have a distrust for mechanics i don't know}
i've got a week to do it before the workshop day.
oh a replace a couple of fuses i blew today whilst pissing about with the clocks.

i might have to send out an sos to fellow forum members for a little help......

Your going through the wars by the sound of it at the mo.

Sidelight:
Get a 12v test light and check there's a live getting to it at the bulb end. Make sure it's nothing silly like a dodgy terminal or earth, loose connection. If there is no live at the bulb when switching on, check the switch itself, see if there's a live there. Check for any breaks in the wiring.

Brake light:
A bit of glue should sort you out temporally for the lugs hopefully, and maybe some washers. If the worst comes to the worst and there's no way of attaching the light, then a bit of gaffa tape wrapped around and stuff the light in so it dont fall out to get you through the MOT. I'm not sure if LED's are a failure, but the built in LED indicators are! So just disconnect them at the flasher relay or somewhere like that. Or as you say stick the original back in.

Rear Indicators:
Have you got some spare original rears? If so that's a straight forward enough job. Hopefully the original wires are there still so it's just a case of plug and play. Unless they have been used as a feed to the led indicators in brake light. Either way should not be too big a job.

Handlebars:
Don't know, that needs looking at! I expect it's something to do with the stopper on the modded front end being taken off. You might need to get a piece of metal or bolt welded/glued on as a stopper.

Head Bearings:
Are you sure they don't just need tightening up a bit. If it's that bad/loose it could be linked to the problem with the bars hitting tank.

Get yourself some spare fuses and electrical wire. I'm sure your gonna have to run some wire somewhere. Indicators or something! And you might as well get yourself a selection of crimp on terminals. Saying that, as a bodge you could get by with a bit of electrical tape for the MOT's sake.

If I was you I would start with the silly thing's first, light's etc and then see what can be done about the bearings and the handlebars.

The bearing and handlebars might be a problem, but by the sounds of it you just need it all patched up to get you through the MOT. Then you can fix thing's more tidy/permanently on the workshop day.

Keep us informed to how it's going. If you need some help PM me, I'm not too busy next week. How are you set for tools, let us know if there's anything you need and I may be able to help.

cheers carl
the bars i have are fully adjustable 3inch risers so that ain't a big deal, i only have very basic tools, they're a joke really
i wouldn't even know whats needed to tighten up the head bearings, i'll sort the rear lugs tomorrow, i'll hopefully have snoogle undertray/rear lights by wednesday, if i can get hold of some cheap rear small indicators, i don't want to drill holes in my aftermarket undertray, i could knock up a bracket to run behind the numberplate and attach the indi's to it.
i tried the sidelight bulb and checked the fuses, i'll get some fuses tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.
i'll get there buddy, i might take you up on your offer of tightening up the head bearings, if i can't get it sorted by the middle of next week.
thanks again dude....

well done BSM you,re gettingthere

did have to have to have a little chuckle though. the first sentence of your first post on this thread , dated 22/4/11 reads "this is going to be a busy couple of months"

it will all be worth it in the end.

carbon junky
I think you could be right there!

Carbon wrapping service, well you should be getting good at it by now  I wouldn't advice carbon wrapping your cans though

How about all fairings/panels and tank being carbon wrapped with a black powder coat frame and gold accessories. And just to add a bit of colour, fluorescent green wheels. I thought about that at one stage, could look pretty cool!

I just hope you manage to get the bike done/MOT'd in time for workshop day. How's those electrics going?

its only the sidelight that needs sorting mate, i've sorted the fuses, taken off and sold the led rear light, i've gotto wait for snoogles undertray and lights to turn up.
as i said before i've fitted the front indi's and they work fine, i'll attack the risers tomorrow, they only need a minor adjustment, its just the head bearing which needs tightening and the sidelight/rear lights
i might ask you to keep thursday evening open carl

i really don't want to take the fairing off again until i fit the new fairings :(
i did check and one had broken off, so i stripped the end and re fitted it, it was a bit of a bodge tho, i don't do electrickery, it didn't seem to make a difference in fairness mate
