UPDATE.UPDATE

Post by Flatline »

Having been on a few rideouts I am aware that there is a lot of worry about keeping up, as well as going faster than your abilities

And the riders at the back are always under pressure to catch up (even though they are told to rider their own pace)

One of the reasons for this is the huge difference in riding abilities

So I believe the best way to take a lot of the pressure off is to have 2 groups on the ride out

One group will be led by Miztaziggy and Adyf

The other group with me and another

This is to allow those who wish to gallop off into the distance...........................................to gallop off into the distance :Bike:

Those with me can have more of a canter rather than a gallop :deadhorse1:

It also means there will be less hanging around waiting for riders to catch up

Anyone unsure of there abilities can now come along knowing thhe pressure if off

Good plan, with that many going there's enough for two groups for sure.

BTW, anyone got a spare tent space?
I could bring one but would prefer to be able to move around the bike on the way up and back.
With a tent, sleeping bag, airbed and clothes it all gets a bit cramped.

If I could scrounge a corner to throw an airbed and sleeping bag for Friday night and Saturday night it would be appreciated, mostly with beer!
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Plenty of tent space tony, there will be enough tent space for your bike to sleep inside too :)

Of course mate, plenty of bed space for everyone. Flatty has a massive tent, and I have a large 3 double bedroom tent and I'm not even staying in it since I only live 5-10 minutes away. I was going to go down there after work on Friday in the car and get it set up.

Tony, bazza and Jonesy (and anyone south of Derby/Nottingham). I'll be heading up to Derby on the Thursday to visit family. If you are riding up on the Friday, I can meet you on the way up if you fancy it?

There will be a few mate, and it's pretty secure around there anyway, there aren't any pikeys for miles. It will be some sort of fairly major bike gathering there that weekend, and there will literally be hundreds of bikes. It's a massive area, and I kid you not, on a busy day, you can't get a bike in to park there are that many there. I wouldn't worry too much about your bike getting messed with, but if you're really worried about it then I have a garage you could park it in and then get a lift down in the car for Friday night.

Seb, if the weather is good just getting in or out of the camping area/car park will be tight. Just don't park near the helicopter landing pad as last September some of the bikes got blown over. Keep the picture in your mind of only three bikes being there, you will be rewarded with a great view of the place rammed with bikes and people of all sizes and shapes when you get there.
