total loss because of the frame...

That's insanity as the frame is not bent or anything, All it is, is a small hole where the front fairing bracket lug has snapped. Sometimes I think it's just easier and less paperwork for the insurance to write something off and pay out cash, rather than get it repaired. It's no loss to them as they just increase premiums because they splash out more cash in write off's than what they would be by getting repairs. Insurance scumbags.

Well, to be fair we don't know if the frame is bent yet...
But I have a plan.
Suppose you made that little hole bigger, and then strengthened around the sides of the headstock?
Sounds like a way to get ram air through the headstock to me.
After all, it's simple enough to fab up a bracket to hold the fairing on and in place.

Silver linings and all, you never know when opportunity will come a knocking.

he was working on fuel injection on the storm engine i think?

it was when you did your cam covers red some time ago that made me think of his bike too

I Hope your on the mend and glad to here about the double flusher, at least some things are functioning ok

Personally I think it is best if you buy Martys Blue Storm, hopefully the bump on the head will make you see sence finally

Thanks Duffy re Martys blue bike, apart from the fact it's blue, I have been following the rebuild thread & all the agro Carl has had getting things done like getting the fairings to fit properly & the flashers to flash & all the other bodge jobs. (no offence Carl not your work mate.)

indicator flash rate was just different wattage bulbs, i've not advertised the bike on the forum, i have my reasons for this. the bike performed very well yesterday, even managed a unintentional wheelie, honest officer.....
like any older bike, it has its issues, and the fairing fits a lot easier now we have the brackets in the right place
i'm confident it will make someone a nice bike. any closer to deciding what your going to do with the bike mac?

just think, if you'd been on a blue bike you would have been going so slow you would have avoided the accident, your way of thinking not mine....

Nah not decided on what to do with 'Ole Red yet, Tony thinks it will be easy enough to swap it all over to another frame & as he has most of the bits in stock + all the other very generous offers of bits from other fine members (you know who you are no name dropping just yet... ) but I have to wait until the robbing bastids er I mean the insurance bandits have their say & depending on what the buy back price is...then there is the once you start strip you start to find other problems...I just have a feeling that the forks just have to have some damage from the impact.

So at the moment I'm looking to buy it back,then look at long term getting another one to swap me bling over with & sell off the spares. But I might change my mind tomorrow... I used to be indecisive but I'm not so sure now...

Whatever happens I will almost certainly have to go with flat bars as me wrist is proper fubar ! Have to go back to the hosp on Thurs for fracture clinic, at the moment I have very little strength & even less rotational movement in my right hand. Yes I know it's just over a week give it time & all that...we'll see.
Been very sore today especially me elbow, it's amazing how bashed about you get from these things most of me left hand has tuned a nice shade of bruise, yellowy-brown-purple-blackish, the palm & the fingers its a bit freaky !

Foods alright, make tea coffee no problem, take my time & I can roll a decent smoke, just odd things, like you wouldn't believe how hard a banana is to peel...

I have a very nice young lady ( married 3 kids ), from the village comes in every morn to shower me...must be scary for her all that blubber & bruising... Still got dressings on both arms & limited movement so cant wash meself properly yet.
