Moved Red out of the MacCave...

Moved Drooper out of the MacCave...

Left the Wonky Donkey where it was & rewired the rear indi's, charged the batt, fitted the air box, fitted the tank, fitted the batt connected it up...Fired it up,first press of the starter. Hoorah no issues following the loom transplant ! Well only one thing, no oil or neutral light...hmmm. Found one connector block not connected in the rubber boot behind the tank, plugged it in & all is good.

what about fitting a cbr600 m/c to sp2 calipers???

will work...... F4i MC piston is 15.86mm.... will give more lever travel than stock SP2 unit, but also more power. Strangely, Honda fit the F4i with the largest caliper pistons (43/32) and smallest MC piston of that era of Honda sportbikes....... lots of mechanical advantage, but also lever travel.......

Buckled my front wheel in a pothole

Back from holiday and with Monday off as a recovery day, I took a spin out to clear the cobwebs. Out the A44 and on the drop into Kington I hit a feck off big pothole and nearly put two ball sized dents in the tank

Didn't think too much about it till I was on a long straight and as the speed got significant the bars started flapping (a lot, only glad I have a steering damper!).... And given that was the symptom with the new 6spoke, I figured out quite quickly what the problem would be.

Got home, and yup, a big flat spot ton the rim

And to make it worse I hadn't hit round to sending the 6 spoke off to Motoliner in Kent to get straightened, so I had to massage the std 3 spoke with a large hammer and a block of wood to get it a bit better.

On the plus side, one of MrsMcQ's sisters is visiting on her way to one of the other sisters... In Kent... 300yds from Motoliner!
so the 6 spoke is off on its holiday and should manage free delivery and collection

That's a bummer al :-( .

that's a real pisser Al....
yesterday I re-fitted the correct exhaust hanging brackets and removed the givi rack, I've found an issue with my exhaust tho, where the n/s link meets the header is not right, I need to get a small bracket made up, as the hole under the footpeg hanger and the hole on the linkpipe are way out, once that is secured the problem should be solved.
this morning I mostly cleaned the bike, started with lots of surfex hd, then a nice soapy wash and hose down with a pressure washer, followed by some farecla resin polish, then some autoglym extra gloss.
I also lubed the chain and used plenty of gt85 and acf50 in all the right places.
I then sat back and watched the bike drip oil all over the back garden.....
it's has a tiny oil leak since I went to wales, but it's getting worse.....
i'm going to have to take the fairings off and investigate......

Preped the bike for my first trackday (snetty 11/08/14).

I just hope I can keep up with the novices

i'd be tempted to remove the fairing lowers, seat cowl, swap the c/f mudguard for a standard one if you have one, just in case the worst happens, I also think you will be moved up to the inters within 2 sessions....
