Another little dyno run this AM, to establish what difference the high comp pistons make.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I took it down a notch on the preload and adjusted the damping slightly, got a bit more confidence back now. It was feeling a bit awkward lately, but I've lost just over 2 stone in the past few months so must finally be feeling the difference

Quite well, considering.

It's worth doing.
I recommend it.

I really do.

You want real data?
Ok, last time on the dyno I observed that after the bike had bounced off the rev limiter for a few seconds there was a fair bit of blue smoke coming out of the exhausts.
But now, with a light hone, and new pistons/rings, there ain't none at all!
So the money spent on pistons and rings should be recouped in 25.7 years in less oil used.
Assuming that they don't wear and start leaking again.

But then new rings would have gained a bit, so perhaps the pistons aren't needed at all, just the new rings and a hone.....

But it gained 7Bhp and 4 torque, seems good vfm.

I'll gasflow the heads at some stage but ran out of weekend this time.
Also fit oversize inlets- can't hurt much.
Oh, and get the ram air tubes finished, and fit a new chain/sprockets, etc, etc, etc.

But I can't do much this weekend as I am acquiring another metal shed for Mon Acres.
More spares storage...

Oh, and I've bought another bike.
Only 650, but hey.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Nice one Tony  Are you going to update your dyno thread. I ear wat your saying with the rings. I wonder what difference you would have had if only doing the rings, no pistons....or maybe go overbore standard compression.

Have you got any plans to sort out the bottom end risibility, balance things out a bit, as all your plans are going to turn the bike into a race/track bike. Cams!!! How's your fulling doing now.

Got the bike in a nice position in the "garage". Bloody hell its a joy being able to fully walk round it.

Not sure about whether to plumb in the airline and water until i get the hyd lift in etc! Thats a luxury but wanted item. I have fitted the alarm.
Basic 12v car batt with a horn with micro switch hidden but it works a treat. If that doesn't work the "Westie will piss on there legs anyway!!!

leathers and helmets all stored nicely in there heated wardrobe. And both Gloves Jamie! Ski,s are in and Tools in the Van Vault bolted to the floor.
I am a happy Bunny.
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!

Do you consider it a disadvantage being a rabbit? How do you cope with everyday human tasks without hand-like appendages or opposable thumbs? How do you keep in control of the bike when you surely can't reach the controls?

If you could, would you want to be a human?

That would depend on who's hands it's in.
